Note: In early 1969 when Matra fitted the new V12 into older chassis the cars became known as Matra-Sports with the "M" prefix coming after the number to signify they were older "modified" chassis and not new cars. Note also that only one true 670C was built, the other C spec car being 670B-01 rebuilt. The type 670C never raced at Le Mans, the team building B spec chassis with C spec bodywork. The only 680 built was 670B-03 rebuilt. Also note that there was no chassis built as MS670B-04, and no chassis were built as MS670C-01 to 03.
